Q1 What is Personal Accident insurance?

Personal Accident insurance pays a lump sum benefit in the event of a fatal accident, permanent total disablement or other significant permanently disabling injuries. Some cover is also included for other specific injuries such as emergency dental treatment. For further details, please see the summary of benefits.

Q2 Does it matter if the injury isn’t my fault?

The benefits are payable regardless of fault.

Q3 When does cover under the Personal Accident insurance apply?

Benefits are payable if you suffer an accident at any time whilst taking part in a recognised gymnastics activity in a recognised environment.

Q4 Is the cost of an MRI scan or X-ray covered?

The cost of radiography treatment, which includes X-rays and MRI scans, can be considered. You should refer this to sent to W Denis Insurance Brokers PLC as part of your claim if this is required.

Q5 Is cover included for all injuries?

Cover is included for accidental injuries that result from a single incident that occurs whilst you are taking part in recognised gymnastic activities. Cover is not included for gradual causes, sickness or disease, naturally occurring or degenerative conditions or post traumatic stress disorder.

Q6 Are the costs of consultation fees covered?

No, this is not a private health insurance and the costs of private consultations, as well as medication and surgery, are not insured benefits. W Denis Insurance Brokers PLC can provide separate cover for this if required.
